- Yellow, orange, red, yellow-green and red-purple are classified as warm colors
- Blue, Blue-green, Green, Blue-gray are cool colors

- Colors are classified as "warm or cool" -- "advancing
or retreating"
- Yellows, orange, red, yellow-green and red-purple
are classified as warm colors. They are the colors of fire and
the sun. Used in large amounts these colors can make people "feel"
warm even though the physical temperature has not been altered.
- Warm colors seem to advance towards you.
- Blue, Blue-green, Green and Blue-gray are cool colors. Cool colors
can actually create the illusion of coolness to the point that
people will think they are cold even though the temperature
around them has not been dropped.
- Cool colors seem to retreat away from the observer.
