The redesigned MPI 500 Series defines verified standards for coatings that protect fuel and waterfront steel assets.
Developed in collaboration with industry experts and the U.S.
Department of Defense (DoD), the MPI 500 Series Standards establish
consistent product performance testing criteria for coatings used on
industrial infrastructure assets, such as steel pilings and waterfront
structures, interiors and exteriors of fuel pipelines, and petrochemical
storage tanks.
Each standard includes detailed instructions for performance criteria,
surface preparation, and testing protocols.
Purchase and download the Standards from the MPI Store.
Each MPI 500 Standard defines a suite of product performance testing for coatings intended for industrial and Department of Defense (DoD) applications. Purchase the standards to gain access to precise performance criteria and testing methods.

Systems currently including A Non-Zinc Flexible Epoxy Barrier Coating (prior 515) used with a Fluoropolyurethane Topcoat (prior 516)
The MPI Approved Products List (APL) provides free and easy access for
specifiers and architects to source coatings products for their projects.
Each coating product listed in under the MPI 500 Series have passed
rigorous initial verification and are periodically re-tested to ensure
performance reliability. This eliminates inconsistent testing, speeds up
specification, and ensures long-term reliability.
The MPI 500 Series gives manufacturers a clear path to verified
performance and DoD project eligibility. Test your coatings through
MPI’s testing and listing program to earn placement on the Approved
Products List (APL) and access new markets.
Purchase the 500 Series Standards to prepare your products and start
the approval process.
